Who might we meet? Some early adopters.

February 18th, 2008 by Robert McIntosh · 8 Comments

Thank you VERY much for those of you who have taken the time to get in touch and commit to the conference at such an early stage. At this point the door is still open to join or leave depending on your other commitments, but we are very heartened by the positive response to the idea.

For those of you not on facebook, here is a list of those bloggers who have already said they will make it to the conference, along with a list of some of those who have said they will try (I don’t know all the blogs, but have tried to include those I can - let me know if you want yours included). This might give you a better idea of the kinds of people, and the spread of interests, that will be at the conference.

I must say that I am particularly impressed with the number of countries represented in these lists.

Such expressions of interest are crucial at this stage, but we also need your input on what we should do, what you want to get out of the event and how much time and effort you think you could dedicate to it. Do you want to lead a session? Let us know. Want to get involved, sponsor, organise an event? Get in touch!

This list will develop over time, and we will find a better way to include it I’m sure, but for now, here is a list of those who have said “YES”:

[UPDATE 22 Feb, 2008

Some more people strongly interested in attending since this post went live:

Welcome to all of you and we do hope that your schedules permit you to make it!]

Those who might possibly be able to make it (blogs included where I could find them, and in no particular order):

Well, I might not live in Europe, but I’m gonna be there just because of wine at least 3 times this year, maybe more…
Such a Conference would most certainly expand my horizons.
    Fingers crossed!

In the meantime, the conference has been largely announced in the German wine-blogging -sphere, I’ve seen at least 5 articles on well read blogger sites.

I haven’t seen any announcement on French blogs yet - perhaps because there is no French version of the invitation yet…

I’m not so far from the Spanish border in the Languedoc, but as a wine maker, I’m not sure, whether we’ll not be starting the harvest at these dates… it all depends on this years climate:-)

very good news, thanks Iris. I look forward to seeing more support from Germany as I know there is a lot going on there but I have little knowledge of those sites.

I look forward to hearing more from you, and I hope the harvest holds off long enough for you to join us

    Hi,

We are three friends with a common interest in wine and everything which is somehow related. We’ve recently created a Portuguese website (http://www.magnacasta.com/) with the goal of shortening the entry barriers to this wonderfull world of Wine to the common, non-wine-professional, public.

We’d like to sign up to the event, even if we don’t know if all three of us will be able to attend.

    Thank you,
    Ricardo Oliveira
