Editor’s Note: As we had mentioned in the past, we are very interested in learning about each and every participant at the conference. We’re fascinated as to what your current projects are, where you are coming from and why a conference like the European Wine Blogger Conference interests you. This said, we’d like to welcome Andre Ribeirinho from Lisbon, Portugal, our first brave soul to share a little about himself with us.

When Ryan announced the idea of making a Wine Blogger Conference, I was thrilled. Going to the lovely region of La Rioja in August for 3 days of conversations around wine and technology, what can be better?

Who are We?
I’m Andre Ribeirinho, and I’m one of the founders of Adegga. Adegga is social wine discovery service and the idea is to help you discover new wines based on the opinions of people you trust. We launched in 2007 and have since been developing and integrating new tools to make it easier for everyone to discover wine.

Why are we Excited?

We’re looking forward for the conference! Meeting people face to face (people with whom we normally email, twitter or just read their blog) can only be exciting. We build tools and develop great technologies, but in the end, it’s all about people. The EWBC2008 is a unique opportunity to meet other people who have a passion for wine and to share ideas on how we can make wine blogging an even better tool for people looking for information on wine.

What we Hope to Gain?
There will certainly be a lot of great conversations going on. After the conference, I hope to be full of ideas and feedback on how to improve Adegga. Since we’ll be in La Rioja, we also hope (of course) to
have tasted a lot of great wines!
