Aren’t you sick and tired of trying to find some tasting ‘gold’ among the hundreds of wines at the usual wine tastings? Well, instead of hunting them down, why not bring them along?

Our idea for this tasting is that, as wine bloggers, we all have a view of some of the best wines available in our own countries, the kind of wines we really wish others would finally discover just as we have. Well, here is the opportunity.

Our suggestion is that, to kick off the European Wine Bloggers’ Conference, each participating blogger brings along 2 or 3 wines (2 bottles of each?) to put into a general tasting. Then all members can have a walk around tasting, exploring the wines of markets they may not yet have discovered.

The wines could be great examples of the blogger’s own country’s wines, or could be examples of wines that are very popular in that country, or maybe some exceptional wines from around the world that the blogger might have discovered recently. It doesn’t matter. The only criteria is that they are the kind of wines you’d be happy to have on your own blog.

Very good idea. We will provide addresses or else the wines could be brought on the day (in your luggage of course).

I certainly look forward to the suggestions from Germany as I am a big Riesling fan.

We might also consider sharing the lists in advance to avoid duplications (I doubt it will happen, but just in case).
