We certainly hope that this conference is not a one-off and will be repeated again in the future. In this case, it is likely that it will take place in another country or region so we may combine our meetings with the opportunity to further explore the world of wine.
As such, it is important that we take full advantage of being in one of the most exciting wine areas of the world and therefore explore some of the best wines Spain and Portugal have to offer.
This tasting would focus on those wines and wineries that are making these countries the subject of hundreds of articles, blog posts and tastings. We have yet to finalise the format, and how we will source the wines, but the idea we have is to showcase the “best of the best” from these countries while the assembled bloggers are in the region.
So, how about a wine full of great wines from Rioja, Ribera de Duero, Priorat, Rias Baixas, Toro, Douro, Alentejo, and many, many more? Who would want to miss THAT?
And who could lead this tasting? Catavino are obviously well placed to be involved as they cover these two countries, but there would also be experts from each country, and who knows, maybe even some top winemakers. Anybody have suggestions on whom to invite?
However, this is not yet decided and we welcome your views on how we might organise this tasting and what it would concentrate on.
